(2) In fighting back with sleeplessness, Americans go to the Pharmaceutical industry for relief, and the sleeping pill industry is booming as a result.

However, those sleeping aids did fix patient’s short-term sleeping issues, but came with new side effects. (3)  There is an all-natural way to help relieve sleeplessness and insomnia without the harsh side effects of sleeping aids. Firstly, let’s look thoroughly at sleep deprivation.

Insomnia and Sleep Deprivation

Insomnia is common for people who aren’t able to sleep because of a variety of issues such as: having a hard time going to sleep, not receiving a deep and restful sleep, waking up way too early or waking up frequently during sleep.

The causes of insomnia are from psychological, biological or social factors. These facts include depression, anxiety, high blood pressure, medical problems or illnesses…

Believe it or not, Insomnia is a little different from sleep deprivation. It is because insomnia is defined as having the resources and environment to actually sleep in, but having internal contributing factors that keep you from having a good nights sleep. Sleep deprivation is a little different. It is caused by insomnia, and can also be caused by external factors that include: being around too much light, loud noises, and feeling physically uncomfortable.

Even though the causes of sleep deprivation and insomnia are different, the outcome is similar, and that is actually a lack of sleep. Not receiving enough sleep can cause a multitude of uncomfortable symptoms that will affect your quality of life.

Here are a few examples of symptoms to expect:

  • Moodiness
  • anxiety
  • Daytime fatigue
  • Lack of concentration
  • Poor memory
  • Lack of energy
  • Lowered cognitive functions
  • Anger and irritability
  • Fatigue
  • Upset stomach
  • Loss of coordination

Not only are symptoms a nuisance, they are dangerous, especially when the person that is experiencing them on a regular basis or utilizing heavy machinery at their jobs. High rates of insomnia can occur in older or middle-aged adults. It is women who will suffer more from insomnia than men. You should consider being tested for insomnia, if you fall under the at-risk demographic, experiencing any typical symptoms of insomnia or are lacking sleep.

Side Effects of Sleeping Pills

Sleeping can be effective in keeping someone asleep, however, almost always these pills come with side effects that can seriously hurt someone than insomnia would. Here are a list of side effects:

  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Flatulence
  • Tingling or burning in limbs
  • Appetite changes

  • Impairment the next day

Also, for a fact, sleeping pills have about 1 1/2 times more side effects than sleep deprivation does. The presence of those side effects may be due to the fact that sleeping aids work by depressing the central nervous system. It is shocking how many sleep aids have been found to be addictive and have destroyed many people’s lives, whether for use of sleeping aid or not.
