Don’t Buy Fabric Softeners Anymore- They are Harmful! Make This Natural and Inexpensive One Instead

Making a homemade fabric softener is the best way to make beautiful scents that will make your clothes smell fresh and clean, without any harsh chemicals.

The products you make will be environment-friendly and will be effective on itchy, sensitive skin.

Fibers that are fragile to harsh chemicals will be able to handle a homemade fabric softener. It contains an odor neutralizer and is completely cost-effective. This recipe is easy to make and won’t require too many ingredients. It’s an effective stain remover for vomit and urine.

Homemade Fabric Softener

For this recipe, you will need a very coarse sea salt or a couple cups of Epsom salt for a base. Other ingredients you should have on you are: a marker, blended scents, 20-30 drops of essential oils, a container with a lid and half a cup of baking soda. You will want to ensure that the lid is secure and closed tightly to lock in freshness.

With all the ingredients in the container, mix it well. Add in 2 cups of coarse sea salt or Epsom salt with essential oils into the container. Stir well before adding in the baking soda. However, baking soda isn’t that important, but it is an effective stain remover. You can put baking soda in separately with your clothes . If you want to make a different smelling fabric freshener, use different essential oils to ensure no mix-ups.

It is recommended that you use 2-3 tablespoons before your clothes go into the rinsing stage. If you forgot to add in baking soda, mix half a cup into each load you wash. You can make changes to the recipe by switching up the amount of essential oils to produce a weaker or stronger smell. Adding more Epsom salt will give you more fabric softener. Make sure that you add in more drops of essential oils to supplement the difference.

Benefits of Homemade Fabric Softener

Making your very own homemade fabric softener is the best way to keep the environment safe and prevents harm while being extremely effective.

Products sold in stores these days contain chemicals like benzyl acetate, which has been found to be associated with pancreatic cancer, which is easily breathed in and absorbed through the skin.

They are not environment-friendly due to being petroleum-based, which is a non-renewable source and isn’t even biodegradable.

Many fabric softeners sold in shelves within stores are filled with benzyl alcohol, which is found to cause irritation in the upper respiratory tract, and chloroform, which is a neurotoxin and a carcinogen.

When you make the decision to create your very own fabric softener, you can choose what goes in it and how it comes out.

You will know what to expect from the ingredients and their won’t be any harm to you or the environment. Make sure you use different scents and aromas, as well as different herb oils like rose and lavender.
