This is What Happens To Your Brain When You Stop Believing In God

Some may say that once you stop believing in God the way religion does, it's the same as no longer being addicted to drugs. Vice reports on the matter...

What I say is not intended to offend or mock any religious beliefs. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs and mine just happen to be that religion is a form of control and a greedy creation.

Might I suggest watching a movie called "Zeitgeist" that in which will inform you of many fallacies religion and especially christianity want us to believe. Of course if you are religious or believe in god whatsoever, it's hard to just spontaneously stop believing but with enough factual evidence to prove otherwise it is most certainly possible.

Many of us were raised in religious households and attended church but the belief in a God who "loves you" that will send you to hell to burn for all eternity if you don't follow his commands is a bit shady don't you think.

More and more people all across the world are starting to retreat from religious beliefs. In fact, 35 % of young Americans state they have no affiliation with religion even though they grew up in religious households.

Americans raised with religious beliefs who no longer believe became unaffiliated through a onetime "crisis of faith." Instead, 36 percent became disenchanted, and another 7 percent said their views evolved.

Believing in God is essentially the same exact thing as believing in Santa Claus.

Losing faith happens overtime unless there is a dramatic change of faith.

Religion is a bit different as it manipulates our minds differently in a more controlling manner to remain with us as long we live.

"Religion works exactly like a drug—like cocaine, or methamphetamine—or like music, or like romantic love," says Jeffrey Anderson, a radiology professor at the University of Utah who studies religion in the brain. "All of those experiences on some level tap into rewards. The physiology is really the same." (S)

"Rational thought makes religion go out the window," "Lack of any sort of scientific or specific evidence of a creator," and "I'm a scientist now, and I don't believe in miracles." (S)

The science culture can contribute to the undermining truth of religion. For instance the bible explains earth and all of it's creations were formed in seven days but in reality we learned it happened through evolution over time time span of millions of years.

When you stop believing so heavily in god the way religion wants you to. Your brain chemistry changes. You become more open to other ideas and beliefs and inherit more positivity on the outlook of life.

People who are not religious tend have their own beliefs of what "god" may be and are very passionate about them. These people also tend to be much more accepting to people who disagree with them rather than say "you're going to hell."

There are many religions and many forms of "God" which tend to make you think long and hard whether or not religion is a fallacy and made up. Whatever your beliefs you should always keep an open mind.
