Fantastic New Study: taking a hot bath may be as effective as 30 minutes of exercise

Sometimes you're just too beat after work to then go work out. Did you know that a hot bath may actually have some of the same effects as working out?

A 2016 study actually found that taking a hot bath - for the study defined as one hour at 104 degrees - burned nearly 130 calories - or about the same as a gentle 30-minute walk!

Of course, that still isn't the same as hard exercise. For instance, biking for that hour burns 750% more calories. But it does mean that when you're too tired to get out for your workout, a hot bath can still help.

And there are other benefits to hot baths, as well. In addition to burning calories, hot baths can help regulate blood sugar, improve heart health, improve circulation, and other great health benefits.

This is, in many cases, the result of both steam and heat - both of which your body like, including for respiratory relief.

Thanks to Hearty Soul for the heads-up!
