Celery comes from the same group fennel and parsley are in, the Umbelliferae family. 


White celery is typically grown away from sunlight and in the shade. This gives it less amounts of chlorophyll than its green members.

CAUTION


Celery is such a wonderful plants, and is so because it has its own “pesticide” to keep it free of fungi. Psoralens is the layer that prevents fungi, and it doesn’t digest well with some people.

If that is the case, you could have a sensitivity to psoralens. A lot of people who have eaten celery when they had low blood pressure, saw the pressure drop lower. If you find this is happening, then refrain from consuming celery.
