Will Marlboro Marijuana Cigarettes Be The Future of Cannabis?

During the past few years, rumors have spread around that tobacco giant Marlboro is looking at creating a new product.

Marijuana cigarettes. Is it really true though? Well, we will debunk the claims. Here’s the facts on the Marlboro-marijuana situation:

The rumor was going around in 2014. Silly headlines say: “Phillip Morris Introduces ‘Marlboro M’ Marijuana Cigarettes."

Sounds credible when you start to read, however things get tricky. Abril Uno emphasizes that:

Norcik [Philip Morris’s senior VP of marketing] added that they have begun contacting former drug lords in Mexico and Paraguay, currently the largest marijuana-producing countries in the world, for the possibility of setting up a distribution ring across the North and South American continents, to streamline the supply lines.

It doesn’t sound real to me? Do you think it is?

This article is completely false and lacks facts. If the tobacco giant Marlboro wanted to have a share of the cannabis market, they would need to be in connection with growing operations in states across America.

With marijuana being illegal at the federal level, it is still an issue that growers have to face. The growing of cannabis plants is a risk for giant corporations like Philip Morris.

The false packaging looks very convincing but it’s fact that the tobacco industry has its view on cannabis. Recently, there have been published articles that relay how tobacco companies are possibly interested in jumping into the weed market in due time.

The Daily Caller conveys that giant tobacco corporations have been purchasing vaporizer and eCig companies. There is factual evidence though that shows how big tobacco has been experimenting with weed for many decades prior to now.

Toward big-cannabis

Marlboro may not be manufacturing marijuana cigarettes, however big cannabis names are coming into the picture. Company such as Dixie Elixirs and O-Pen Vape have products that are sold in states that legalized medical/recreational use.

There are laws that do impose limitations in how the companies can grow weed. Rules are, cannabis products aren’t to be made in one state and sent to another. In order to develop a cannabis brand in different states, the company will need to buy a manufacturing and production facility within that state. The brand must follow legal stipulations enforced by that state government.

For an example, Oregon passed a law mandating that edibles THC content couldn’t be over 15mg. Now that the cannabis industry has somewhat big brands for the first time, the manufacturing of it has been limited when in comparison to various consumer goods. There is a lot of money being made off of the cannabis industry.

Venture capitalists and tech corporations are right in the mix and benefitting from it. This is a sign that things will become much expanded soon. When it comes to being illegal by federal law, the cannabis industry remains in gridlock.

Annually, the advancement of the cannabis industry increases as new brands, products, and tech startups compete for a secure spot in the market. This is going on without any say from the feds, and with no clear path of the companies future for the next 5 years.

There isn't a single doubt out there that the cannabis industry is targeting large, mainstream cannabis brands. It’s very unknown right now to predict if something like Marlboro M will be marketed in the future. Do you think that the government will legalize marijuana? Would you try out Marlboro Marijuana?
