The Swedish diet is said to be simple and effective. People who have gone through with it, focus on protein and fats and lowering your intake of carbohydrates.



Its very similar to the protein diet. That isn’t all to it. The Swedish diet is also a metabolism-booster with the benefit of improving digestive and general health. Dr. Malcolm Kendrick believes that high fat/low carb diets will raise HDL cholesterol (the good kind of cholesterol). This diet may raise concerns with the high levels of fat content, but research proves it to be beneficial to your health than sugar and carbs, as it is damaging to your health. 


The Swedish diet separates food into three different groups:

◦ Foods Allowed to be Consumed
◦ Foods Allowed to be Consumed Occasionally
◦ Foods That Are Not Allowed to be Consumed


Foods Allowed to be Consumed:

◦ Veggies that grow above ground
◦ Avocadoes, Olives, and Mushrooms
◦ All meat types
◦ Nuts like Pumpkin Seeds, Hazelnuts, Almonds, Cashews, Brazil Nuts, Walnuts, and Sunflower seeds.
◦ All fish types and shrimps
◦ Eggs
◦ Dairy products (especially those with high-fat percentage)


Foods Allowed to be Consumed Occasionally:

◦ Dark chocolate with a high cocoa content (70% Cocoa or more)
◦ Veggies like carrot, turnip beetroot, and celery
◦ Fruits: one fruit a day and raspberries


Foods That Are Not Allowed to be Consumed:

◦ Margarine and refined oils
◦ Alcohol (especially beer)
◦ Ice-Cream
◦ Artificial sweeteners
◦ Sugar
◦ Muesli
◦ Store-bought juices
◦ Soda drinks
◦ Pasta
◦ Cookies
◦ Grains
◦ Starch
