Breaking: At Least 7 Injured in Another MAJOR Gas Pipeline Explosion Near Previous Leak

Another gas pipeline erupted yesterday in Shelby County, Alabama where a huge explosion rocked the area that was being worked on, only about a mile away form the colonial pipeline leak that happened in the summer.

Seven people were taken to hospital after being injured as a result of the explosion. Videos taken near the scene show plumes of smoke and fire coming from the area.

Colonial Pipeline have reacted to the explosion by shutting down production:

In September, the Colonial Pipeline leaked thousands of gallons of gas southwest of Birmingham near Helena and led to dry fuel pumps in several Southern states — for days, in some cases. There was no immediate indication whether Monday’s explosion will lead to similar shortages.

"We were just beginning to recover from the gas price hikes we saw from the pipeline closure in September. The explosion will at least temporarily put a halt to the pump-price dip we’ve experienced over the past 30 days." said Garrett Townsend, Georgia Public Affairs Director for AAA. “

Colonial Pipeline, the Alpharetta, Georgia based company, transports more than 100 million gallons of products daily between Houston and New York City, serving over 50 million people.
