Purslane is commonly misktaken for a weed. In actual fact, it is actually a health-boosting super-food that many people grow for their own consumption. 

Purslane or Portulaca oleracea is a pretty plant with light yellow flowers. It origins are thought to be in India and Persia, but literally colonised the planet and spread all over the world.



It is very versatile and can grow almost anywhere. Packed full of Omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C, all sorts of B vitamins, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium, calcium, and copper, as well as betalain pigments and carotenoids, it really can be considered an amazing super food.
